A right-arm medium-fast bowler in New Zealand, Hamish Bennet announced his retirement from all cricket, bringing the curtains down on a 17-year long career. Despite boasting immense talent, Bennet couldn’t make it big in international cricket.

The 6ft 3-inch bowler, who was famous for his high-arm bowling action, made his Test debut in the same game that of Kane Williamson. He bowled 15 wicketless overs before a groin injury ruled him out of the game. He didn’t play any Test match since then.

The Timaru-born cricketer played 31 matches for New Zealand and took 43 wickets. This 6ft 3-inch bowler was famous for his high-arm bowling action. However, Bennet will continue playing for the Old Tablelands Cricket Club in Martinborough, while also pursuing a career in coaching.
