8 Teams that should play the Champions League if it is hosted in 2020
Franchises from West Indies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, and England have been part of Champions League T20.
5. Barbados Tridents
Barbados Tridents won the Caribbean Premier League for the second time in the 2019 edition having won their maiden title in 2014. Captain Jason Holder was clinical with his all-round performance helping the team clinch their second title. He took 14 wickets at 25 and did the occasional power-hitting.
Johnson Charles was the leading run-scorer for Barbados. The right-hander scored 415 runs at an average of 31 with 3 half-centuries. Hayden Walsh Jr finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament last year grabbing 22 wickets at an average of 12 including a five-fer against Trinbago Knight Riders.
Only two teams from the CPL have played in the Champions league- Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana Warriors. T&T reached the finals in 2009 but faltered at the last stage. If the Champions League takes place in 2020, the current CPL champions Barbados would be the hope for West Indian fans.
