Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian batsman doesn’t need any introduction. He holds some biggest accolades in World Cricket and is also nicknamed as God of Cricket by the fans. The 46-year-old had won several trophies throughout his career and he added one more to his showcase on Monday when he was awarded the trophy of Laureus Sporting Moment in last two decades in cricket. And, Virat Kohli congratulated the legendary player for the same.

The 46-year-old top-order batsman arrived in international cricket at the age of 16 years. At that time, nobody knew that he might turn into one of the biggest stars of the World Cricket. His illustrious career of 24 years was no less than a roller coaster ride and fans always applauded him for his brilliance on the field with his willow.

The interesting thing was that he had to hustle for at least 20 years to fulfil his dream of winning the World Cup. And, it was MS Dhoni‘s glorious six that took Sachin Tendulkar all the way to the glittering trophy.

In 2011 World Cup, after MS Dhoni smacked the winning six against Sri Lanka in the finals, there was a wave of joy and happiness that went through India’s dressing room and the happiest man on that day was none other than Sachin Tendulkar, who was playing his last World Cup. Later on, he was given a lap of honour by his teammates with Virat Kohli and Yusuf Pathan carrying him on his shoulders.

This moment was nominated as the Laureus Sporting Moment from last 20 years by people’s choice. It was a big moment for Sachin as the fans had felt that moment was worth voting. Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper took to his Twitter handle and congratulated the former Mumbai player with a heartwarming post that read, “Congratulations Sachin paaji on being honoured with the prestigious Laureus Sporting Moment Award. A great achievement and a proud moment for our nation. @BCCI @sachin_rt.”
