Very few batsmen in world Cricket currently are as supremely talented as AB de Villiers, a.k.a, Mr. 360° himself.
Very few batsmen in world Cricket currently are as supremely talented as AB de Villiers, a.k.a Mr. 360°. What makes him even more special is the utter humility with which he treats the adulation that is constantly showered at him. Recently, de Villiers chose to reveal the cricketer who he feels to be the best in the business at present and that man is none other than Virat Kohli.
The camaraderie between de Villiers and Kohli is very well-known to all lovers of the game. The duo has been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side since 2011 and their brotherly affection for each other has remained constant both on and off the field. The two also have two 200-runs partnerships between themselves, a feat that nobody else possesses in the tournament.
AB de Villiers showers praise on King Kohli
As reported by India Today, de Villiers lauded Kohli and placed him very highly as he called him “the best player in the world at the moment.” ABD’s words do have solid facts behind them as Kohli has proved himself worthy of being called the best time and again. The 29 years-old cricketer currently has 35 ODI tons and 21 Test centuries to his name and is often considered as the person who can inch close to Sachin Tendulkar‘s mammoth record of a hundred hundreds.
Apart from international Cricket, King Kohli has shown equal prowess in the IPL where he’s the only cricketer to have four T20 centuries to his name in a single season. As a result, de Villiers’ statement showers praise on the truly worthy. ABD and Kohli have often expressed their immense respect for each other and even term each other as “brother from another mother”.
However, Kohli-ABD’s highly successful combination hasn’t been able to win matches for the RCB side till now in this season. Although AB de Villiers has got a few good starts, he hasn’t been able to convert them into big scores. Kohli, on the other hand, is currently holding the Orange Cap with 201 runs in 4 matches. RCB is currently placed at the second last position of the points table.
