'After a long time, our favourite duo Kulcha is back' - Twitter goes wild after both Chahal and Kuldeep feature in the Indian playing XI together after two years
Several fans have expressed their joy in seeing both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian playing XI.
The ‘Kulcha’ duo is famous in Indian cricket. ‘Kulcha’ is the name given to the duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, the two wrist spinners of Indian cricket. And, on 18th July 2021, the two men have been named in the playing XI for the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
What is so special is the fact that this is the first time since the 2019 World Cup match against England that took place on 30th June 2019 that Kuldeep and Chahal will play a game together. In that game, both Chahal and Kuldeep were hammered by the England batsmen.
While Chahal leaked 88 runs in the 10 overs that he bowled and did not pick up even a single wicket, Kuldeep was smashed for 72 runs in his quota of 10 overs and picked up just a single wicket.
And now, for the first time in more than two years, both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been named in the Indian playing XI for the first ODI match against Sri Lanka.

Another fan is happy that India’s favorite bowling duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal is back in the side. Another Twitter user is confident that both Chahal and Kuldeep will perform well against the Sri Lankan side. Yet another user has tweeted that it seems as if Chahal and Kuldeep played together decades ago.
While Kuldeep Yadav has played 63 ODI matches for India and has scalped 105 wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 92 wickets in his ODI career in 54 matches. While Kuldeep has scalped one five-wicket haul in ODI cricket, Chahal has scalped two.
