After defeating Virat Kohli in a ball-race, Ravindra Jadeja comes up with an Instagram update
The Indian captain and Jadeja ran all the way in order to stop the ball from reaching the boundary.
The fourth match between India and Windies at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai turned out to be a one-sided affair as the home team won by a massive 224 runs. Moreover, Virat Kohli and Co took an unassailable lead in the five-match series. In the meantime, there was a mini-battle between the Indian captain and Saurashtra all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
India, in their first innings, racked up 377 runs in 50 overs. Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma scored centuries to propel India’s score. The run chase was never going to be easy for the Windies by any stretch of the imagination. Left-handed batsmen Kieran Powell and Chandrapaul Hemraj opened the batting. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had the leather in hand.
Jadeja beats his captain
The Indian seamer generally shows accuracy inside the fielding restrictions and he bowled three dot deliveries to Hemraj. However, the youngster eventually got off the mark in the fourth ball courtesy of a backfoot punch through the cover region. The speedster dished out a back-of-a-length delivery and the southpaw threaded the gap quite comfortably.
The Indian captain and Jadeja then ran all the way in order to stop the ball from reaching the boundary. In the end, it was the latter who made a sliding stop and parried the ball to Kohli, who threw the ball into the hands of MS Dhoni, the wicketkeeper. During the mini race, it was seen that Kohli halted his run on realising that Jadeja was in a better position to collect the ball.
The batsmen completed the runs without much fuss and had already completed them by the time the throw came in. With the runs, the Windies also opened their account. Meanwhile, Jadeja posted a screenshot of them in his post on Instagram. Moreover, he captioned the same and wrote, “Almost a same running pose.”
