The Australian captain Steve Smith is making headlines. Not for his incredible batting which he has been displaying for quite some time. But for breaking some cricketing rules and laws he was well aware of. He was trying to get an indication from the dressing room on whether he should review an LBW decision or not but vigilance from Virat Kohli a smart piece of umpiring prevented Smith from overstepping the line.

With everyone criticizing Smith for this act, including captain Virat Kohli, The Board of Control for Cricket In India also took a dig at the visiting skipper as they came up with a new full form of DRS which read as ‘Dressing Room Review System’.

Here is what BCCI have to say about this:

This was a clever dig from BCCI aiming at Smith as it is the moral responsibility of a captain to ensure fair play in the game but the he tried to trespass the spirit of the game.

After Kohli led India to a dramatic win in the second Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, he was very local about Australia’s foul play in the series.

“I pointed it out to the umpires and twice I have seen their players looking up there for information and that’s why I was adamant. When he turned back that’s why the umpires knew what was going on, we told the umpires they had been doing that for the last three days and that had to stop.”

An angry Kohli hinted that Australia crossed their limits and that he would have never done anything similar.

“There are lines you don’t cross on the cricket field (inaudible) is different, but I won’t mention the word but it falls into that bracket. I would never do something like that on the field.” Kohli continued.

Smith surely will learn a lesson from this and not repeat the mistake in the future.
