Akanksha Sharma files a case of domestic violence on her brother-in-law Yuvraj Singh
Yuvi is struggling to revive his cricket career and now the family feud doesn't seem to help his cause.
The ousted Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been slapped with a case of domestic violence on him by Akanksha Sharma, his sister-in-law. The case has also been filed against his brother Zoravar Singh (husband of Akanksha) and mother Shabnam Singh. The family feud seems to have gotten really ugly now as the first hearing of the case is scheduled on October 21 (Saturday). However, mother of the cricketer Shabnam has also filed a suit against Akanksha for recovery.
Yuvraj Singh is already struggling to regain his form and fitness due to which he was dropped from the Indian team. Recently, he also failed the yo-yo test according to the reports and was ignored for the New Zealand series. He also failed to stamp his authority in the recent Ranji Trophy game against Vidarbha which Punjab lost by an innings and 117 runs. Being the leader of the pack, Yuvi failed to lead from the front and could only muster 62 runs in both the innings.
What are the charges?
While Akanksha Sharma refused to speak on the matter until the first hearing, her lawyer Swati Singh Malik confirmed the news to Spotboye.com and also explained the reason for filing the case against Yuvraj Singh. She said, “Yes, Akanksha has filed a case of domestic violence against Yuvraj, her husband Zoravar and their mother Shabnam. Look, domestic violence does not mean just physical violence. It also means mental and financial torture, which can be attributed to Yuvraj.”
She explained further that the left-hander was a mute spectator of all the happenings in the house and had also pressured her to have a baby. “Yuvraj was a mute spectator to the suffering caused to my client by Zoravar and his mother. When Yuvraj and Zoravar’s mother was pressurising Akanksha to have a baby, Yuvraj too had joined in to do the same. He too told Akanksha ‘to have a baby’. He was hand-in-glove with his mother,” Malik said.
“Yuvraj would even tell her that she should obey his mother because she was the most superior person in the house. Really, that lady is extremely dominant. Zoravar and Akanksha were at her mercy for every decision. Yuvraj even told Akanksha that if she does not toe the line then she has no place in that house,” Malik concluded while clearing that the notice has been sent to the family of the cricketer.
