Roger Federer is regarded as the Champion of Grass and rightly so, bearing in mind his exploits on the grass-court. The Switzerland-born tennis player has grown leaps and bounds as his career has progressed. He has won 20 Grand Slams in his career and is the person with the most number of titles in the history of the sport. The seasoned campaigner also has 8 Wimbledon championships.

He is 36-years old, however, he hasn’t let age diminish his spirit towards playing the sport. He isn’t playing the ongoing French Open at the Rolland Garros in Paris. Nevertheless, the veteran is expected to be back to wield his magic in the Wimbledon which starts from July 2. Alan Wilkins, a former cricketer and a commentator, has been seen heaping praises on FedEx during his matches.

“He is a big Roger Federer fan”- Wilkins on Virat

Wilkins also commentates in cricket and is one of most experienced even in the cricketing fraternity. Moreover, the presenter has been seen sharing his opinions on players like Virat Kohli, who has been an exemplary figure in the world. Recently, the 64-year was asked to make a choice between Federer winning his ninth Wimbledon and Kohli lifting the World Cup and he replied with the name of the Swiss Legend.

“Virat is 29 and still has a few years in him. Roger meanwhile is already 37, so he doesn’t have many years in him. So my vote would go to Roger at Wimbledon. I am sure if you ask Virat, he would say the same thing, he is a big Roger Federer fan,” Wilkins was quoted as saying by Sports Café.

The World Cup is exactly a year later and India are touted to be one of the favourites to win the championship for the third time. Virat took over the reins of limited overs cricket from MS Dhoni in January 2017 and has won a number of tournaments for India. Apart from his batting prowess, the Men in Blue will also wish for the 29-year old to lead the team from the front.
