Alex Hales has learnt his lesson, says skipper Eoin Morgan

After a forgettable Ashes series against mighty Australians, Englishmen are all set to take them on in the limited overs series, which is scheduled to start on 14th January at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As the preparations seem to be in full swing, Englishmen are trying their level best to notch their game standards and give Australians a good fight. Furthermore, England’s Selection Committee has already announced the squad for both ODI and T20 Internationals.

The series will once again witness the power hitter Alex Hales, who was ousted after the incident happened in Bristol. He, along with his counterpart Ben Stokes was involved in an incident and he could have faced a charge over an alleged assault, according to Eoin Morgan.

Last year in September, Alex Hales was also suspended for final two one-day Internationals and still faces an England & Wales Cricket Board Cricket Disciplinary Commission hearing, which is due to take place once the Crown Prosecution Service decides its next steps with regards to Stokes.

However, Alex Hales was cleared by the police as he was found innocent, which eventually helped him to earn his place back in the ODI setup. On this, skipper Eoin Morgan said to Telegraph, that Alex has ‘learnt his lesson’ and knows what he did was wrong.

In his comeback game against Cricket Austalia XI, the southpaw went on to score 52 runs off just 35 balls at an astonishing strike-rate of 148.57. The innings was laced with four boundaries and three mighty sixes. The 29-year-old will look forward to continuing his dazzling stint against Aussies and cement his place in ODI setup once again.

The skipper after Alex Hales’ performance concluded, “Obviously there was an issue around it and he knows what he did was wrong and certainly, I think he’s learnt his lesson coming back into the side.He’s been given another chance to prove (himself). I thought he stuck to the mantra for the team which is to be positive and aggressive when the opportunity arises and he certainly did that today. He wasn’t hesitant at any stage. I thought he played extremely well.”
