Especially in ODIs, cricket has been blessed to have some overwhelming left-handed stars whose radiance have only dazzled up and glittered the world of cricket in luminosity. Today, we make a list which is a dream team of left-handed players as it encompasses the best ODI players of all time across all the ages and eras. The former Sri-Lankan captain represented the Lankan’s in 445 ODI’s and blasted 13,430 runs in his 22 years long ODI career. Ganguly is regarded as the god of the off-side as he possessed an invincible knack of piercing the off-side field every now and then, at his will. The Bengal tiger was barbarous on spinners and his trademark dance down the ground against spinners to clear the ground is ever so fresh in everyone’s memory. 3. Kumar is the only batsman in cricket history to amass four consecutive ODI centuries, a feat which he achieved in his last ODI tournament. Overall, Sanga has scored 14,234 runs in 404 ODI matches at an average of almost 42. 4. Brian Lara (West Indies): Brian Lara. (© Getty Images) One of the greatest batters to have played the game, Lara’s astonishing skills with the bat shivered even the best bowlers of the world. Though, his batting style was uncanny but his effectiveness with the willow was unmatched. Brian Lara featured in 299 ODIs and muttered 10,405 runs at an average of 40. 5. Yuvraj Singh (India): Yuvraj Singh. (© Getty Images) Only a player of Yuvi’s caliber could have simultaneously battled with cancer as well as the expectation of millions of fans in World Cup 2011. Yuvraj was the stalwart in India’s World cup glory. Such has been his aura that when he is at his peak, there cannot be any better sight on the 22 yards. The 33-year old has played in 293 ODIs and has compiled 8,329 runs while he has also taken 111 wickets. 6. Michael Bevan (Australia): Michael Bevan (Photo Source: AFP) If playing with the tail-enders and combating pressure situations is prerequisite for success as a finisher in ODI cricket, then Bevan was master apt at it. Michael Bevan is one of the greatest finishers of ODI cricket, his cool and calm persona was matchless in crunch situations. Bevan represented the Aussies in 232 ODIs and piled up 6912 runs at a staggering average of 53. 7. Adam Gilchrist (Australia) (Wk): Adam Gilchrist. Adam emerged as the protagonist in World Cup 1999 and 2007 finals. He featured in 287 ODIs and blasted 9619 runs at a belligerent strike rate of 96. Whenever Gilchrist clicked, matches became one-sided and the opponents got thrashed. 8. Wasim Akram (Pakistan): Wasim Akram. From in-swinging to out-swinging, from reverse swinging to bowling deceptive bouncers, Akram was a complete bowler whose variations remained mysterious for even the greats of the game. In 356 ODIs, Wasim took 502 wickets at an average of 23 per wicket. 9. Chaminda Vaas (Sri Lanka): Chaminda Vaas. Chaminda Vaas holds the best figure in ODIs which reads as 8/19 against Zimbabwe. Vaas always relied on accuracy and his off-stump line posed many tough questions for the batsmen. In 322 ODIs, Vaas grabbed 400 scalps. 10. Daniel Vettori (New Zealand): Daniel Vettori. (Photo Source: AFP) The Kiwi great served his nation for 18 long years. The New Zealand team always turned to Vettori whenever the team was in tough situations. In 295 ODIs, he took 305 wickets at a miserly economy of 4.12 which is piercing considering the recent trends in ODIs. With the bat, he aggregated 2253 runs and donned the supporting role many a times during his career for the team. 11. Zaheer Khan (India): Zaheer Khan. With age, Zack progressed into a veteran ODI bowler and also had many tricks in his armor to dismantle the opposition batsmen. In 200 ODIs, he has claimed 282 wickets.
