'Already missing you' - Deepak Chahar's sister Malti reacts as he departs for CSK training camp in Chennai
CSK officials have also confirmed that the family members of the players will not travel to UAE at least for the initial phase of IPL 2020.
Before the start of much-awaited IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings is the only franchise to host a six-day training camp before flying the UAE. The CSK training camp will feature many prominent names including skipper MS Dhoni and his deputy Suresh Raina.
The Chennai franchise had arranged a special flight for its players and social media was flooded with pictures of CSK squad members. Raina himself had shared multiple pictures during their flight journey to Chennai. Apart from Dhoni and Raina, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma and Piyush Chawla were a few other prominent faces in the flight.
After COVID-19 hiatus, the training camp will be essential for the players who haven’t been in touch with the sport for months. The camp will commence from August 15th and will end on 20th, before the players fly to the UAE on August 21. Three-time IPL winners CSK will be aiming to add another trophy to their name this year.
Players will have to stay in quarantine for 7 days after landing in UAE
CSK officials have also confirmed that the family members of the players will not travel to UAE at least for the initial phase of IPL 2020. Amid the pandemic, the players will be away from their families for over two months.
Malti, Deepak Chahar’s sister, also shared a picture after the pacer departed for Chennai. Malti is a regular visitor to CSK’s matches and has been spotted in the stans on multiple occasions. As confirmed, she won’t be able to travel with Chahar and attend CSK matches in the initial phase of IPL 2020.
“Me when he’s leaving for ipl 2020 @deepak_chahar9. Already missing you,” wrote Malti Chahar while sharing a clip with the pacer.
Rahul Chahar, their brother, will also depart soon as he is a part of Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. If the Chahar brothers are selected for the white-ball series in Australia, they’ll have to stay away from their home for a longer period.
The IPL 2020 will kick off on September 19 while the final will be played on November 10. As per rules, all players will have to stay in quarantine for seven days after landing in the UAE. The tournament is anticipated to be played under strict regulations to curb the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
