Ambati Rayudu hails Chennai Super Kings as the best ever team

Chennai Super Kings were crowned the IPL champions for the third time. This was a season which was really special for them. The reason being that the franchise was returning after a gap of two years. Betting charges against team owner led to their suspension for a couple of years.
However, the Super Kings announced their arrival with a bang. The team was in splendid phase with individuals stepping up in every game to prove their potential. Whether it was Faf Du Plessis or Suresh Raina or Shane Watson, everyone had a role to play in one or the other game.
The biggest surprise package of this year’s IPL was that of Ambati Rayudu. Having been promoted up the order contrary to his role as a finisher for Mumbai Indians in previous years, Rayudu took his game to another level. The right-handed batsman ended up with 602 runs this season and the third highest run scorer in IPL 11.
He hit 34 sixes in this IPL and his strike rate of 149.75 is a clear proof of his explosive batting. Rayudu took complete advantage of the powerplay overs as he would attack the bowling lineup whenever he got a chance. The 32-year-old went on to score a century as well as against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
This tournament couldn’t have been sweeter for Rayudu as it also earned him a national comeback. He was named in the limited overs squad for the England tour. Further, it was his second IPL title in a row, having been part of the winning Mumbai Indians camp in 2017.
Describing their journey in the IPL as an awesome comeback, Rayudu relished wearing the yellow jersey. He further called them as the best team ever in IPL history.
