Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, has been in incredible form in all three formats of international cricket. The 30-year-old is currently in Australia where the national team is playing a four-match Test series against Tim Paine and Co. Virat didn’t make the best of starts to the red-ball fixtures. He flattered to deceive in the first contest and got out cheaply on both instances.

However, he came into his own in the second Test at the new Perth Stadium and scored a superlative 123 from 257 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and one six. The Delhi player came to bat after India lost both their openers- KL Rahul and Murali Vijay- at the score of eight. Nevertheless, he didn’t throw in the towel and gracefully staved off the power-packed Aussie attack.

The bearded beast was eventually nipped out by fast bowler Pat Cummins. The batsman tried to play a drive but managed to edge it into the hands of Peter Handscomb in the slip cordon. The soft signal from the on-field umpire was ‘out’. After a long watch, the third umpire eventually declared Kohli out. The TV umpire didn’t find much evidence to over-rule the soft signal.

After his dismissal, the rest of the Indian batsmen couldn’t show much resistance. India were bowled out for 283 and they conceded a lead of 43 to their opponents. In the meantime, renowned Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan reckons Kohli wasn’t out and that the catch wasn’t clean. Moreover, he also slammed the Decision Review System (DRS) and mentioned the technology as something toothless.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “T 3029 – … and Virat KOHLI you were NOT OUT .. !! NOT OUT !! .. DRS = दिशाहीन रूहानी संकेत = dishaheen roohaanee sanket !!,”
