An adorable drawing piece by David Warner's daughter wins heart of netizens
David Warner is stranded in India as IPL 2021 got postponed for an indefinite period.
As the Indian Premier League 2021 got suspended indefinitely, former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner uploaded an adorable post on social media. The post depicted a message from the cricketers’ daughter. The Australian opener has been in a difficult situation for the past week or so.
Just days before the tournament was interrupted due to the rising COVID cases in the country, Warner was sacked as the captain of his franchise. After a poor start to the season, the franchise decided to replace Kane Williamson as the captain, relieving Warner from his duties. He was further dropped from the XI as the management wanted to add an all-rounder to the team.
This decision didn’t go down well with the fans and experts who believed it was a little harsh on the cricketer to have been dropped like that. He was also seen carrying drinks for his teammates in the next match. With the IPL being suspended, for now, it would be good for Warner to return to his family. As he shared the post, it was evident that he missed his family and they missed him big time.
The post which the cricketer shared was a snapshot of a drawing that his daughter made. In it, his daughter drew a picture of David along with their mum, Candice, and her two sisters. There was a message written on it, which read, “Please Daddy come home straight away, we miss you a lot, love you, love from Ivy, Indi, and Isla.” It seems that the drawing was made by Ivy, as David wrote in the caption of the post, “My gorgeous Ivy, so much love.”
David Warner among 40 other Australians stranded in India as IPL gets called-off
The Southpaw will now return to his country with the IPL 2021 being postponed. However, like all other Australians in the league, Warner too will be stranded in India for some time. Australia has banned any flight coming from India and this has created a weird situation for the Aussie players, coaches, and commentators. It has been rumored that they might have to travel to their country through the Maldives.
