The South African wicket-keeper batsman thrives very well in Indian conditions. Quinton de Kock was consistent throughout the tournament, starting off with a 31 ball 51 runs blitz against England. He continued his run making business in the following matches against West Indies and Afghanistan and ended up mustering 153 runs in 4 games at an average of 38.25 with a strike rate of around 142 in the tournament before his team bowed out.

A select group of former cricketers and commentators chose the teams on the basis of the players&#8217; performances in the World T20. The delightful news for the Indian fans is that Indian batting ace Virat Kohli, who was awarded the ‘Player of the Tournament’ trophy, was named as the captain of the team. Another Indian to feature in the list is veteran fast bowler Ashish Nehra. The list also comprises of four players from runners-up England, two from the West Indies and one each from Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand and South Africa. Here is how the team looks like.</p>

<p>The hard hitting right handed opener gave blazing starts to England in the tournament. A batsman with a great T20 reputation, Roy made 183 runs at an average of 30.50 with a strike rate of 148.78. He could fared better if he could control his erratic nature while batting which resulted in his downfall after quick starts. His best performance in the tournament was the entertaining knock of 78 off just 44 balls in the semi-final clash against New Zealand.</p>

<p>The South African wicket-keeper batsman thrives very well in Indian conditions. Quinton de Kock was consistent throughout the tournament, starting off with a 31 ball 51 runs blitz against England. He continued his run making business in the following matches against West Indies and Afghanistan and ended up mustering 153 runs in 4 games at an average of 38.25 with a strike rate of around 142 in the tournament before his team bowed out.</p>

<p>Virat Kohli was the star of the tournament. Kohli has been in his sublime form, forming the backbone of India&#8217;s batting line-up. The Delhi lad struck 273 runs at a staggering average of 136.50 with an equally astounding strike-rate of 146.77, He scored three half centuries and all of them came at very crucial moments for India.</p>

<p>Joe Root’s performances in the tournament proved why he is regarded as England finest at the moment. Root has been a consistent performer for his team across all three formats. In the World T20, Root scored 249 runs in six games at an average of 49.80. Coincidentally, both of his defining knocks (48 runs innings in the opening match and a fighting 54 in the finals) in the tournament came against West Indies which brought him great adulation from his fans.</p>

<p>The Australian all-rounder was surprisingly included in the team just about a month prior to the World T20 in the T20 series against India. His made full use of the experience of playing in the Indian conditions and gave a good all-round performance. Watson opened for Australia but did not enjoy any success. His only notable show was the quick fire 21 ball 44 run knock against Pakistan in the do-or-die match at Mohali. However, he did a satisfying job with the ball picking up wickets at crucial moments in the game. He finished with 5 wickets in 4 games at a good economy rate of 7.35.</p>
