Anushka Sharma congratulates Virat Kohli & Co. for the series win
Virat was the Man of the series while the Indian team registered history beating the Proteas 5-1 in the ODIs.
The Indian team led by their skipper Virat Kohli registered their names into the history book after an emphatic 5-1 series win against the Proteas in the ODI series. This is India’s first ever limited-overs series win in the Rainbow nation which came after a long drubbing period of 25 years.
The Indian captain dominated the six-match ODI series and led his team from the front by scoring three magnificent centuries. He scored over 500 runs was aggressive and a maintained high intensity throughout the contest; that also earned him the Man of the series award. Virat’s better half, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma also took a moment to congratulate her husband and the entire team for the historic series win.

Virat and Anushka tied the knot in a secret affair in Italy in December, last year. She was with Kohli in the initial part of the tour and stayed till the first Test match of the tour. The couple celebrated the new year together, after which she returned to India to fulfil her professional commitments.
She posted two stories on her Instagram account, one of those for Virat’s 35th ODI century coming in the final ODI and the other one for the Indian team greeting them for the stunning series win.
She has faced a lot of criticism for me in the past
Earlier the Indian captain also appreciated his wife in the post-match presentation ceremony after the final ODI match. Kohli revealed that she is the one who constantly keeps him motivated and deserves a lot of credit for the success. He also talked about the harsh criticism which his wife had to face in the past, but has been an inspiring factor throughout in this journey.
“It’s been a roller-coaster tour till now. People who contribute off the field, they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She’s been criticized a lot in the past. But she’s one person who’s kept me going throughout the tour. You want to lead from the front with your performances,” said Kohli in the post-match presentation.
