The high-profile Ashes is currently up in Australia where hosts have already taken a 1-0 lead and they look in a dominating position in the 2nd game as well. However, on day four of the game, there came up an extremely funny incident featuring English skipper Joe Root that left all the fans in splits.

While Root was up on the crease close to the end of day four, he had to change his boxers but the spider camera was just moving over him. Root showed no time to display his presence of mind and was seen pushing away the camera to change quickly.

Talking of the second Ashes, England again appear struggling with their game as hosts have taken up one step ahead by declaring their innings on 473 and 239 in 1st and 2nd innings respectively. While chasing up, England (236 runs in 1st inning) have already lost four wickets on 82 runs where Root just departed after this incident while pitching in 24 runs.

Recently, Ricky Ponting got a little critical of Root while adding that he has not been able to take up his batting well while doing the captaincy thing. He started the Ashes series with a nine-ball duck followed by a couple of half-centuries.

It is a concentration thing with Joe Root and captaincy probably doesn’t help either: Ponting

“It’s got to be a mental thing. There’s no technical error in his last two dismissals that has led to him getting out. It’s got to be him being not quite switched on enough for the ball he’s got out to. Marnus and Smith are really good examples of how they can find a way to be so switched on for so long,” said Ponting while speaking of Root on cricket.com.au.

“It is a concentration thing with Joe and captaincy probably doesn’t help either, (spending) long periods of time in the field when your team is not going so well. They haven’t gone so well of late with their Test results. All of those things take a toll on you,” Ponting added.
