Jasprit Bumrah bowled one of his best and most economical spells against Pakistan in the 2016 Asia Cup. He bowled three overs with two maidens, conceded eight runs and picked up the wicket of Sharjeel Khan. This was still only his first year on the international stage but was blooming as one of the best bowlers in the world.

Ever since the 2016 Asia Cup, Bumrah has appeared in all the major ICC tournaments, including the T20 World Cups in 2016 and 2021 and the 2019 ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship. He is one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment for India.

Bumrah also went on to captain India in a Test match against England in Edgbaston in July, in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He is one of the best bowlers across formats in the world. However, he will not be part of the 2022 Asia Cup, as he is out due to an injury.
