Asia Cup 2018: New title sponsors announced for the tournament
The tournament will kick-off on September 15 in Dubai.
The Asia Cup 2018 where the six teams will face off to crown the best ODI side from the sub-continent will get underway on September 15 in the UAE. Along with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan one team that wins the Qualifiers will contest in the 50-overs tournament. After 12 matches in the group stages played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi the final will be hosted on September 28 in Dubai.
Ahead of the tournament, it has been announced that ‘Unimoni’ previously known as UAE Exchange a leading global money transfer, foreign exchange, payments and credit solutions brand will be the title sponsor for Asia Cup 2018.
Since the defending champions, India will just conclude their England tour on September 11, the opening match of the tournament will be played between Group B teams Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. From Group A, Pakistan will kick-off their campaign with the match against the Qualifying team on September 16, their next match is the biggest draw of the tournament against India on September 19 in Dubai.
UAE, Nepal, Hong Kong, Oman, Singapore and Malaysia are the six teams that will lock horns in the Asia Cup Qualifiers to be held in Malaysia from August 27 to September 7 and the winner will go through to the main draw and play in Group A alongside the two heavyweights India and Pakistan.
