Team India will take on Pakistan in their tournament opener on August 28.
Team India will face Pakistan in their tournament opener of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup slated to be played at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28 (Sunday). The star batter Virat Kohli will also be making a return to the international arena after a brief break and will want to perform well against the arch-rivals.
Meanwhile, Kohli is receiving a lot of praise from the other side of the border after he clicked a picture with his die-hard fan who came all the way from Lahore, Pakistan to get a glimpse of the star batter and get a selfie with him. The fan said that his wish had come true and praised Kohli for his antics in the international arena.
Security personnel deployed on the ground stopped Jibran from entering the premises
At present, teams are conducting their practice sessions at the ICC Academy ground ahead of the competition. As Kohli was walking back to the team bus after the practice, a fan named Mohammad Jibran came rushing towards Kohli but was stopped by the security guards stationed on the ground.
At first, Kohli kept walking towards the team bus, as Jibran screamed his name asking him to get a selfie. Later on, the 33-year-old met the fan from Lahore and also clicked a selfie with him. The whole video was shared by a local Pakistani Youtube channel where Kohli was seen clicking pictures with some other fans as well.
“I am not a fan of anyone but Virat Kohli, for whom I have come from Pakistan hoping to get a picture clicked with him. I waited for an entire month for this so the moment he finished his practice and was about to go back to his hotel, I tried a lot. He is an amazing person besides being a fabulous cricketer. He listened to me and agreed to my request of getting the selfie clicked,” the fan told PakTV.
