Australia vs India: Ravindra Jadeja unfurls his signature sword celebration after reaching fifty
Jadeja is having fun after his half-century and is approaching a century now,
It’s all but over for Australia in the ongoing four-match Test series against India. After Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant, it was the turn for Ravindra Jadeja to have some fun in the middle. The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has witnessed a lot of heroics from Team India and this Test will also be added to that list. Jadeja and Pant literally annihilated the hosts in front of their home crowd.
There was literally no pressure on Jadeja when he came to bat at 418/6 but that didn’t mean that the flamboyant left-hander took everything for granted. He gauged the behaviour of the pitch, gave himself some time and rotated the strike. One thing which worked for him was there were no close-in fielders. Jadeja played the bouncers well today and also took on during his patient knock.
Sword celebration gets a rousing applause
With all the focus on Rishabh Pant’s batting, Ravindra Jadeja calmly went about his business and got to his half-century in the 160th over of the innings. Though it came through a normal single with a drive to the long-on, what followed left everyone amazed. The sword celebration came out soon which is expected now from the all-rounder.
He uses the bat as his sword and performs the acts with it and the same happened at the SCG. Interestingly, the crowd also applauded and loved it as well. The commentators on air were also excited to watch something different as the action in the middle with India dominating completely mattered little.
Here’s the video:
India, meanwhile, are piling on the agony for the Australians now having crossed the 600-run mark as well. Ravindra Jadeja is attacking every bowler now knowing there is nothing to lose for them now. He is also approaching his second Test century and it will be interesting to see when the visitors will declare.
