Australia vs India: Virat Kohli picks a shot from AB de Villiers' book to smack an incredible six
Virat Kohli or AB de Villiers?
Team India is currently playing a three-match T20I series against Australia Down Under. After losing the ODI series 1-2 to men in yellow, the Indian side started the T20I series on a winning note at Canberra by 11 runs. Coming to the second T20I, Australian captain Aaron Finch injured his hip and stood out of the game, which resulted in Matthew Wade taking over captaincy duties.
India went on to win the toss and skipper Virat Kohli elected to bowl first. India brought in Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Manish Pandey and Ravindra Jadeja. Hosts made a few changes by bringing in Andrew Tye, Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams. India entered the game brimming with confidence on the back of an inspirational win from the first T20I.
New opening Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short started proceedings for hosts with the willow. Wade went on to hit a half-century. Steve Smith was back in the form yet again after two back to back disappointing performance. He smacked 46 valuable runs. Australia managed to post 194/5 in 20 overs. T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers for Team India with 2/20 in 4 overs.
Virat Kohli stuns everyone with his unorthodox shot
Team India openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul did a brilliant job in the first five overs before the latter lost his wicket for 30 runs. Dhawan, however, tried his best to reach his half-century. Virat Kohli, who came in at No.3, unleashed some unique shots during his stay. Unfortunately, Kohli couldn’t stay unbeaten as his stay was shortened when Sams picked his wicket for 40 runs.
However, one shot that stole the limelight from Virat Kohli’s bat was AB de Villiers-esque shot which came in the fifteenth over off Andrew Tye. The pacer bowled a full delivery and the modern master went on his one knee and scooped it over fine leg for a six. The video is going viral on social media for various reasons. Commentators on air were quick to hail Kohli for bringing out an unorthodox shot.
