Australia will blow India away in Perth, predicts Shane Warne
Australia off to a good start in Perth.
High-flying India will have their task cut out against Australia in the second Test, currently underway in Perth. With an eye on leveling the four-match series, the hosts have prepared a green top at the new Perth Stadium which is hosting its first-ever Test match. The curator has prepared a pitch that will be nothing short of a nightmare for the batsmen.
The pitch looks as green as could imagine, making it clear that the hosts want to take the upper hand on the visitors by exploiting their traditional weakness on fast and bouncy tracks. Australia’s pace attack comprising – Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood – are more than capable of unsettling any batting order.
And Shane Warne feels the hard, green, bouncy and fast pitch will help the under-fire hosts blow the world number one Test side away. The legendary spinner took to Twitter to predict the outcome of the game. Apologizing to his Indian fans, the former leg-spinner predicted Australia to win the game, writing, “Good luck to both teams in Perth today for the second test ! Sorry to all my Indian fans, but given the pitch conditions, a hard, green bouncy & fast pitch – I think the Aussies will blow India away ! I hope Starc finds his form & gets 10 for the match & Finch gets a big 100”
Australia off to a good start
The hosts, meanwhile, have made an impressive start to the game in Perth. The game started on a good note for Australia as their skipper Tim Paine won the toss and decided to bat first. Marcus Harris and Aaron Finch then made sure to justify the call by sharing an unbeaten partnership of 66 runs before lunch was taken. The Indian pacers did create a few problem for the openers but they hung on and mixed caution with aggression to give their side a solid start.
Harris was batting on 36 while Finch was on 28 when the umpires called for lunch.
