Australian Cricket Team wearing black arm band to pay homage to Bob Holland

The Australian Cricket Team, during the start of the second ODI at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, was seen wearing black armbands to pay homage to former fast bowler Bob Holland, who lost his battle to Brain Cancer at the age of 70. The passing away of Holland came two days after he attended a tribute dinner in his honour in Newcastle. He played 11 Tests for Australia, taking 34 wickets, as well as playing 95 first-class matches representing the New South Wales.

“He was a real competitor, he loved the game of cricket and really enjoyed the competition, but played it in the absolute best way you could play the game. I’m sure he didn’t enjoy getting belted back over his head for six, but as a good spinner does he’d come in next ball and try and get you out,” further added Taylor.
