Everyone knows the potential of this power hitter, and everyone also knows that he isn’t using it to the fullest. The Kings XI Punjab player scored just 58 runs from the 3 games he played, giving former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly a reason to state that looking at his performances, he shouldn’t be given a chance in any team.

But T20 is the format which is tailor-made for him. Smith will want him to replicate his dominance over the spinners from the IPL in this series and get the Aussies over their biggest hurdle. Maxwell boasts of an IPL experience of 57 matches, the Big Show has blasted 1228 runs in his career at a strike rate of 164.

6. Moises Henriques

Moises wasn’t selected for the ODI series, but owing to his vast experience and all-round abilities, he has been called up for the T20Is. He was one of the most consistent players in Warner’s IPL team, and the entire Australian team will be looking on him to deliver with the ball and then in the middle order as well. Henriques, made his IPL debut back in 2009 and to date has taken field in 57 matches to score 969 runs has picked 38 wickets.

7. Daniel Christian

Just like Moises, Dan is another player who has been selected in the team due to their widespread experience. While he missed out narrowly on lifting the IPL, he won NatWest T20 Blast and the Caribbean Premier League.

Christian has played 36 IPL games, has scored 420 runs and picked 30 wickets. He last played for the Supergiant team and had the role of finishing the innings with the bat and ball as well. It is unlikely that the Aussies would field both the all-rounders and in that case, it will be a toss-up between him and Henriques.

8. Nathan Coulter-Nile

Coulter-Nile was not only the best bowler for Australia in the ODI series, but was the best bowler of the series instead. His skill, pace and bowling length match the requirements for a seamer to be successful in Indian conditions, and hence the Kolkata Knight Riders’ player holds to key to Australia’s success in the T20Is, at least with the ball. NCN has been a part of IPL teams in 26 matches and has 36 wickets to his name.
