The Bangladesh team, of late, has enjoyed tremendous success. The country has witnessed a rise in a number of quality and potential players, who have enriched the national team. And with a plethora of promising cricketers, the once-minnow team from the subcontinent has now evolved into one of the indomitable forces in international cricket.

And in the new year, the Tigers face a congested schedule which will test the tenacity and grit of the team as a whole. In June-July, Bangladesh will be touring West Indies for a bilateral series across all the formats. The series will comprise two Tests, three ODIs, and two T20Is. In this series, however, it is being speculated that Bangladesh will have a chance to play in the United States of America (USA) for the first time.

Shakib Al Hasan is the only Bangladeshi cricketer to have played in the US

As reported by BD Crictime, according to the itinerary sent by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), the two T20 matches are scheduled to be hosted in Florida. It’s not a new thing for WICB because they have recently started playing T20 matches of any home bilateral series in the neighbouring country. The WICB has also been organising Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in Florida for the last two years.

The prior two Tests and three ODIs in the series will be held in different venues across West Indies before the teams fly to in Florida to play the two T20Is. The USA has hosted six international cricket matches till now. However, all the games the country hosted have been T20 games. The first fixture was played in May 22, 2010 between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Shakib Al Hasan is the only player from Bangladesh to have the experience of playing in the USA as he was a part of a CPL franchise in the last season. For the rest, it’ll be a first-time experience playing in North America, and the Tigers will hope to embark on winning ways in the first-world nation.
