All the stats and numbers that were created during the high-scoring T20I game:
0 – Number of teams that chased down 194 and more in less than 17 overs in a T20I. The Netherlands team chasing down 190 against Ireland in 2014 is the previous highest chase in 17 and fewer overs in T20Is. The Dutch team needed only 13.5 overs in the WT20 game in Sylhet.
1 – For the first time, three Bangladesh batsmen scored 40 and more in the same T20I innings. Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim scored their maiden T20I fifties while their skipper Mahmudullah scored 43. Had Mahmudullah also scored a fifty, this would have been the 3rd instance of three players scoring fifty in the same T20I innings.
3 – Bangladesh and Sri Lanka’s debutants Zakir Hasan and Shehan Madushanka respectively were involved in the first ball of this game. This is only the 3rd time where the batsman and the bowler involved in the first ball of a T20I were debutants. (Excluding the involved team’s maiden match in the format)
The T20I between Canada and Ireland in 2010 at the Colombo’s SSC and the 2015 Dhaka T20I between Bangladesh and Pakistan were other such games involving the T20I debutants in the first ball.
3 – This game between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is only the third in T20I history where as many as seven players scored 30 and more. The Ireland-Netherlands T20I in WT20 2014 and Australia-Pakistan WT20 2016 game in Mohali are the previous two such instances.
193/5 – Bangladesh’s total of 193/5 in this game is their highest total in T20I cricket. Their previous highest total in this format was 190/5 against Ireland in the 2012 Belfast T20I.
194 – Sri Lanka recorded their highest successful run-chase in the T20I cricket. They never chased 175 and more in this format. Their previous highest successful chase was 174 against Australia in the last year’s Geelong T20I.
