<p>Shane Bond was frightening fast and was a nightmare for batsmen all around the world. Bond was a useful&nbsp;tailender and could accumulate useful runs fo this&nbsp;team. In his short injury-ridden career spanning seven years, Bond played 43 ODIs&nbsp;as the last man in the batting order and mustered 145 runs at a pretty good average of around 18. These runs also included 6 sixes which happen to be the highest at the No.11 position&nbsp;overall.</p>

It&#8217;s always a joy to watch balls flying out into the stands, sixes have always been fascinating from the fans point of view. Cricketers like Chris Gayle, MS Dhoni, and Shahid Afridi have always kept the fans enthralled with their power hitting skills. But, six hitting is not only about the unorthodox approach, which was proved by the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting who have also hit massive numbers of sixes in their career. Here are the batsmen with most sixes at each batting position in ODIs.</p>
<h4><strong>1. Chris Gayle &#8211; 162 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>The modern day master is famous for his ability to smash those big hits into the crowd. Gayle had earned all his reputation for his aggressive style of batting. Once the ‘Caribbean Sixer King’ gets going, the match is as good as over for the opposition. Gayle has a double century in ODIs to his name and numerous other batting records. The gentle giant has so far hit a staggering 162 sixes in 186 matches he has played in his ODI career spanning from the year 2000 to present.</p>
<h4><strong>2. Sachin Tendulkar &#8211; 155 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>This is yet another list of batting record that the legendary Sachin Tendulkar graces his presence. Tendulkar had been a synonym for batsmanship for more than two decades. Tendulkar had been a pretty versatile batsman in his career and performed various roles as a top order batsman for India. Tendulkar came out to bat depending on the teams’ requirement and delivered almost every time. He opened the inning in 295 matches and scored 13,985 runs which include 1,582 fours and 155 hits sailing into the stands.</p>

<p>Australia&#8217;s most successful batsman and one of the best international cricket has seen in modern times. Ponting’s prolific batting talent made him the third highest run-getter in this format. In his 375 matches old ODI career, Ponting played at vital number three position 335 times and amassed a staggering 12,662 runs. All these piles of runs included 1,150 fours and 152 sixes.</p>
<h4><strong>4. Ross Taylor &#8211; 99 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>Ross Taylor is one short of a century of sixes at number four. Taylor has been New Zealand’s Mr. Dependable at this batting position. The right-hander has the ability to change the course of the game very quickly. The 31-year-old made his debut for the Kiwis in 2006 and has played 129 matches at No.4 so far, scoring an impressive 4,790 runs at an average of 48.38 with the help of 99 sixes and 377 boundaries.</p>
<h4><strong>5. Andrew Symonds &#8211; 80:</strong></h4>

<p>The burly right-hander was a vital part of the ‘invincible’ Australian team of the early 2000’s. Symonds was used as a pinch-hitter and was well-reputed for his power hitting abilities. He has had many memorable moments on the field where he has completely destroyed the opposition with his brutal style of batting. ‘Symo’ retired way back in 2009 after debuting in 2000 but is still has the most number of sixes at No.5. He scored a total of 3473 runs and hit 80 sixes along with 284 fours in his career.</p>

<p>India’s limited overs skipper, MS Dhoni, who is probably the greatest finisher in the world ranks as the best six-hitter at the No.6 batting position. Dhoni has been India’s most trusted batsman in the lower middle order and has finished games in favor of India almost single-handedly on many occasions. Mahi’s reputation as a finisher is further solidified because of his ability to hit monstrous sixes. Dhoni has played 129 games at No.6 and has aggregated 3,613 runs which includes 269 fours and 78 sixes.</p>

<p>Shahid Afridi has been Pakistan cricket’s poster boy for close to two decades now. Afridi’s remarkable quick scoring talent can keep every cricket lover glued to the TV screens. The right-hander initially started out as an opener but soon became an established lower order pinch-hitter. ‘Lala’ has played 112 matches at this position and has hit 87 sixes and 143 boundaries. The Pakistani star also sits on top of the all-time list of most number of sixes across all formats.</p>

<p>Afridi has been quite versatile in the batting order for Pakistan and has played everywhere right from the top to as low as No.8. However, his nature and style of batting never got affected due to his changing roles. Afridi also tops the list of highest six hitters at No.8. He has scored an impressive 846 runs in 42 matches he played as a lower middle order batsman and has hit 42 sixes along with 69 fours.</p>

<p>The right-arm medium pacer was a useful lower-order batsman too. His batting abilities were so superior for a bowler that he was mostly referred to as a bowling all-rounder. Mills has come out to bat at this position on 66 occasions and has scored 545 runs, which includes two half-centuries. Apart from that, he has also hit an extraordinary 44 fours and 22 sixes.</p>
<h4><strong>10. Zaheer Khan &#8211; 18:</strong></h4>

In addition to taking 282 wickets in ODI for India, Zak has also contributed 3613 runs in 129 matches in which he batted at the No.10 position. The contribution from tail-enders is always regarded as ‘invaluable’ runs which can be the difference between the winning team and the losing.
