BBL 2018-19, Match 52, Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades, Match Prediction – Weather Report, Pitch Conditions, Playing XIs and Live Streaming Details
Qais Ahmed is likely to make his BBL debut.
The Matthew Wade-captained Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades, led by Tom Cooper, have already qualified for the semi-final of this edition’s Big Bash League (BBL). However, both would be looking to not lose the winning momentum ahead of the knock out stages. They are next scheduled to lock horns in the next match of the T20 tournament at the Bellerive Oval.
The Renegades have won their previous three matches and they would be keen to win their last league match. The Renegades last won against the Sydney Thunder at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne by 27 runs. The Hurricanes, on the other hand, were the first team to qualify for the knockouts and they are also in a positive frame of mind after beating Adelaide Strikers by seven wickets.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch has been a batting paradise, thus far and all three matches in this season’s BBL were a witness to some fairly high scoring encounters. And, in all three instances, the teams, batting second came out trumps, which means that the track gets better in the second half of the game. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if the teams opt to field first after winning the toss.
Team Combinations
Hobart Hurricanes
The Hurricanes made a couple of changes to the squad. Jarrod Freeman has been rested and the 18-year-old spinner Qais Ahmed is likely to make his BBL debut. Qais would partner Rose in the spin department. Simon Milenko is most likely to be selected in place of James Faulkner. The team would again be looking up to the likes of Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short to take them off to a brisk start.
