BBL 2019-20: Brisbane Heat’s girl fan excitedly pulls out the middle-finger after Matt Renshaw pouches catch
The Heat went on to win the match by 71 runs at the MCG.
Brisbane Heat haven’t had much to cheer in the ongoing edition of the BBL. The team, led by Chris Lynn, has promised, but haven’t been consistent enough. The fans berserk after the side’s batting collapse at the hands of the Melbourne Renegades. However, on Saturday, January 25, the Heat had the chance of rejoicing as they turned over the Melbourne Stars in their away match.
At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Heat emerged victorious by 71 runs. Subsequently, they moved one place up to the sixth spot in the points table. Meanwhile, during the encounter, one of the Heat’s fans got charged up. The fangirl was being surrounded by a number of Stars’ supporters. It wasn’t a surprise since it was Glenn Maxwell and Co’s final home encounter.
In the 11th over of the Stars’ run-chase, Matt Renshaw took a well-judged catch near the straight boundary. Nic Maddinson perished to leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson and it was the fifth Stars’ wicket to go down. The hosts still needed 107 runs off 57 balls to get over the finishing line.
The girl, who was sitting near the boundary hoarding, had her moment to back hard at her opponent’s fans. After Renshaw pouched the leather, she, unknowingly, made gestures with her middle-finger and it was caught on camera

Stars lose three on the trot
The Stars has been one of the teams to beat in the T20 tournament. They won eight matches on the trot and looked almost invincible. Maxwell’s men also finished atop the points table with 20 points from 14 matches. However, of late, they seemed to have lost a bit of momentum. The Stars have lost three back-to-back matches and all the defeats came while they were chasing targets.
To start with, the Sydney Sixers beat them by 21 runs and then it was Adelaide Strikers’ turn to roll them over by 11 runs. But their most hefty defeat came versus the Heat itself. The Stars lost by 71 runs after being shot out for a paltry 115 in 17.4 overs. They were tracking down 187 after AB de Villiers mauled them with a 37-ball 71. Then the duo of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Swepson blew them away.
