The Adelaide Strikers moved to 2nd position in the points table with their 6th win as they clinched a 10-run win against the Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday. Skipper Travis Head smashed a 40-ball 79 with help of five fours and six maximums. Key contributions from Jonathan Wells (45*) and Matthew Short (33) towards the end helped the Strikers finish on 186/5. The Hurricanes chase was all about David Miller as the home team failed to score even at 7 runs an over in the first half. Miller smashed an unbeaten 90 off 48 balls with 13 boundaries but the Hurricanes finished with only 176/6.

8 – Adelaide Strikers now have defeated Hobart Hurricanes on 8 occasions in the Big Bash League; the joint-most wins for them against any side. The Strikers also won 8 BBL matches against the Melbourne Renegades. The Strikers and Melbourne Stars (9 wins) are the only teams with 8+ wins in the BBL against the Hurricanes.
2 – The Strikers won both the BBL matches they played against the Hobart Hurricanes at the University Stadium in Launceston. They defeated the home team during the last season’s game here by seven wickets.

13 – Travis Head won 13 of the 16 matches as the captain of Adelaide Strikers in the BBL. He is now the most successful captain of the Strikers in this league by surpassing Johan Botha’s 12 wins across 23 matches.
3 – The 79-run knock in this match was Travis’ 3rd score of 75+ in the Big Bash. He and Jake Weatherald are the only players with three 75+ BBL scores for the Strikers in the BBL.

90 – David Miller’s unbeaten 90 while batting at No.4 is now the joint 5th highest score in the Big Bash League while batting at No.4 or a lower position. Peter Handscomb (103*) and Travis Head (101*) scored centuries batting at No.4 during the 2015-16 season.
90 – Miller’s 90-run knock is the highest BBL score for the Hobart Hurricanes while not batting in the top-3. This is also the highest individual score by an overseas player for the Hurricanes in the BBL. The previous highest score for Hurricanes by a foreigner was Owais Shah’s 69 against the Brisbane Heat in the 2011/12 season.
A rare wicketless match for Rashid Khan:
0/40 – The 40 runs conceded by Rashid Khan are most by him in a BBL match where he failed to take a wicket. Rashid bowled at least one over in 35 of the 36 matches in the Big Bash League. He failed to take a wicket in only five of the 35 matches where he completed his quota and three of them being against the Hurricanes.
