Brisbane Heat kept themselves alive in the playoffs race as they registered their 6th win of the season with a 71-run win over the Melbourne Stars. AB de Villiers came up with his first real contribution of the season as he smashed a 37-ball 71 with two fours and six maximums. His heroics helped Brisbane to finish on 186/5 in the 20 overs. The chase looked interesting until the end of 8th when the Stars were 68/2 but the run out of Peter Handscomb turned the things upside down for them as they were bowled out for only 115 in 17.4 overs.
