Two consecutive wins have given the Sydney Sixers’ campaign a new lifeline and they are now ready to take on the Brisbane Heat who seem to have lost their plot a little bit and with two back to back losses find themselves out of the top 4 now.
The Heat, however, are still in a reasonable position and if they play decent cricket from here they can’t reach the knockouts. They won’t be overly worried with the recent losses, but they will be keen to get back to winning ways soon before they develop a negative momentum.
Here’s what we, at CricTracker predict will be the final result-
Scenario 1: Sydney Sixers win the toss
Toss Prediction: Sixers decide to bat first
First Innings Prediction: 170-180
Result Prediction: Sixers win by 25 runs
Scenario 2: Brisbane Heat win the toss
Toss Prediction: Heat opt to bat first
First Innings Prediction: 145-155
Result Prediction: Sydney Sixers win by 4 wickets
Brisbane Heat
After the injury of Chris Lynn, the Heat have played two games and have lost both, but it can’t be said that it’s only the absence of Lynn which has caused those two defeats because they have performed quite well with the bat even without Lynn. It’s just the bowling which has let them down and that’s the department they would like to do better in.
Batting wise, the power is still there for the Heat with Brendon McCullum going great guns at the top of the order and getting decent support from Joe Burns and Sam Heazlett who is now opening the innings.
Predicted XI: Sam Heazlett, Brendon McCullum (C), Joe Burns, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Jimmy Peirson, Cameron Gannon, Mark Steketee, Brendan Doggett, Yasir Shah, Mitchell Swepson
Sydney Sixers
As far as the Sixers are concerned, they have suddenly started to dominate teams. After putting up a clinical show in the Sydney Smash against the local rivals Thunder, they absolutely butchered the Stars the other night. On a pitch where the star-studded Stars batting line-up found it tough to score runs and could post only 128 on the board in 20 overs, the Sixers absolutely smashed it and completed the chase with 29 balls to spare.
Like Heat, the top order is doing well for the Sixers as well and they will like it to continue tomorrow. Nic Maddinson will be the player to watch out for.
Predicted XI: Joe Denly, Daniel Hughes, Nic Maddinson, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Carlos Brathwaite, Johan Botha, Peter Nevill, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Lyon
We believe the Sydney Sixers will defeat the Brisbane Heat in this game.
