BCCI announces India Women’s squads for ODIs and T20Is against South Africa
The T20I side will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur with Mandhana as her deputy.

The South Africa women’s team will be touring India in September-October 2019 for a series of limited-overs matches. The Indian team will engage in five Women’s T20I matches and 3 Women’s ODI matches starting 24th September. The ODI matches will begin from 9th October, but the series will not be a part of the 2017–20 ICC Women’s Championship.
The Indian women’s team is currently having a break from international cricket and their stars have been engaging themselves in T20 leagues with Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues seen in the Kia Super League in England. Also, Mithali Raj called time on her T20I career recently, opening up a big slot in the team and will give youngsters a chance to shine.
The BCCI announced the India Women’s squads for ODI and T20I series against the visiting South African team. Meanwhile, it was recently revealed the Sushma Verma, the Indian stumper will lead the Board President’s XI during the two warm-up games against South Africa women starting in Surat on 20 September. Devika Vaidya will be her deputy and the team have the likes of Pooja Vastrakar and Priya Punia.
However, Mithali Raj continues to be the captain of the ODI team, while Taniya Bhatia was named the wicket-keeper and Harmanpreet Kaur continues to be Raj’s deputy. Punia was also named in the squad which sees regulars like Jhulan Goswami, Deepti Sharma, Ekta Bisht, and Poonam Yadav. All the ODI matches will be played at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.
The T20I side will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur with Mandhana as her deputy. Arundhati Reddy, Shikha Pandey, Pooja Vastrakar, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, and Veda Krishnamurthy as some of the known names in the 15-player squad. All the T20I matches will be played at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium, in Vadodara. This will be the first T20I series Indian women will play after the retirement of Mithali Raj.
