BCCI Annual Awards 2018-19: Full list of winners

Cheteshwar Pujara was honoured the Dilip Sardesai Award for being the highest Test run-getter and Jasprit Bumrah for being the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] gave away its annual awards on Sunday [January 12th] to not only celebrate the success of leading Men and Women cricketers of the country but also of the match-officials, state associations as well as former cricketers.

Vidarbha cricket team was the most consistent side in the domestic cricket during the course of 2018-19 where they not only won the Ranji Trophy but also the Men U23 One Day, Vinoo Mankad Trophy and the Irani Cup. They ended as runner Up in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Virendra Sharma was conferred with a check and a memento for being the best match official of the season. 

As far as the leading male/female cricketers who made a sensational debut in International cricket are concerned, Test opener Mayank Agarwal [872 runs @67.07 with 3 Centuries and 3 Half Centuries in nine Tests] and 15-year-old Shafali Verma [222 runs @27.75 with 2 half-centuries in nine T20s] were conferred with a trophy and a cheque of Rs 5 Lakh.

Jasprit Bumrah wins the Polly Umrigar Award for the first time

Veteran Test opener Kris Srikanth, who scored 2062 runs in 43 Tests @29.88 with the help of 2 centuries and 12 Half Centuries and 4091 Runs @29.01 in 146 ODIs with the help of 4 centuries and 27 Half Centuries, was conferred with the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award and was awarded a trophy and a cheque of Rs 25 Lakh. 

And, so was veteran Indian women cricketer, Anjum Chopra, who scored 548 runs @ 30.44 with 4 Half Centuries in 12 Tests, 2856 runs @31.38 With 1 Century And 18 Half Centuries in 127 ODIs and 241 runs in 18 T20s @17.21 was conferred with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for her services to Indian cricket.

Leg-spinner Poonam Yadav was conferred with the best Women cricketer of the year while Jhulam Goswami and tearaway opener Smriti Mandhana were honoured for ending up as the highest wicket-taker and run-getter in ODIs of the past year. While Goswami finished with 11 wickets in 6 ODIs at an average of 16.36, Mandhana racked up In 349 runs @69.80 in six games with 3 half-centuries and 1 century.

On the men side of things, Cheteshwar Pujara was honoured the Dilip Sardesai Award for being the highest Test run-getter and Jasprit Bumrah for being the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. Bumrah was also conferred with the Polly Umrigar Award for his scintillating performances across all formats of the game.
