BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya passes away
BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya passes away: BCCI president, Jagmohan Dalmiya passed away at B.M. Birla Hearth Research Center of Kolkata after he was admitted due to cardiac arrest on 17th of this month.
Dalmiya had problems with breathing and chest around 9 PM on Thursday and soon was rushed to hospital. His condition was stable according to bulletins released by doctors over last 3 days. However, he was declared dead on Sunday night.
Damilya took over as BCCI President after a gap of 10 years in May, 2015. Since then, he had lot of complains with his health and many people in BCCI wanted him to step down.
Since 1979, Dalmiya was part of treasure. He became the treasurer of BCCI in 1983. Dalmiya played most important role in Asia hosting the 1987 and 1996 world cups including compromising Australia & West Indies, who complained about security in Sri Lanka during 1996 World Cup. He also served as ICC president for 3 years from 1997 to 2000.
The 75 year old Jagmohan Dalmiya was born on May 30, 1940 and was married to Chandralekha Dalmiya who have two children. Apart from being part of sports organizations, Dalmiya was a businessman. He was recognized as Indian Cricket’s Machiavelli and Master of Realpolitik by the media for his services in BCCI and ICC.
