Ben Duckett hilariously pulls Ravi Ashwin's leg on Twitter
Ashwin then put an end to the exchange with a hilarious response.
It looked like England players would never get along with Ravi Ashwin after the Mankad incident in the last Indian Premier League. Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin had sensationally ran out Rajasthan Royals and England star Jos Buttler after the latter walked out of the crease before the ball was delivered.
While Ashwin was well within his right to dismiss Buttler, he faced criticism from several sections for his action. Not only fans but several players especially from England had lambasted the India spinner. England pacer James Anderson shredding Ashwin’s photo is just an example of how miffed the English players were with Buttler’s dismissal.
Unsurprisingly, many were thinking that the England players would never forgive Ashwin. Well, it looks like things have changed and the players have moved on from that controversial episode. Ashwin and England batsman Ben Duckett recently interacted on Twitter and the exchange of tweets were as friendly as one can think of.
It all started when Ashwin took to Twitter to show his support for the Indian football team during their match against Bangladesh. India were playing against Bangladesh in the FIFA World Cup qualifier and leveled the scoring in the dying moments of the game. Excited with the way the game was about to finish, Ashwin tweeted, “1-1 now #indvsban #IndianFootball can we sneak one in now!!! Go boys.”
This is when Duckett decided to pull Ashwin’s legs as he cheekily said that India could score the winner if the spinner played for them, tweeting, “Maybe if you were upfront ash…..”
Ashwin then put an end to the exchange with a hilarious response to his Nottinghamshire teammate, writing, “Hahaha.. they would take the hattrick I scored at Trent bridge happily”
Ashwin to stay with Kings XI Punjab:
Meanwhile, after a lot of speculations, Ravichandran Ashwin’s future in IPL is looking sorted. There were reports suggesting that Kings XI Punjab were in a discussion with Delhi Capitals to strike a deal for the spinner. However, the franchise has decided against selling the Tamil Nadu man. Ashwin led Kings XI Punjab in the last two seasons and failed to guide them to the playoffs in either of them.
