Well some might argue about the presence of Allan Donal in this all times bests list. South Africa does possess other heavy names in the likes of Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis and Shaun Pollock. Still by virtue of consistency and the capability to pose a threat to the opposition batting, Donald stood out.

Allan Donald struck a total of 330 Test wickets coupled with 272 ODI wickets in his career. In fact, right at the start of his international career, Donald shone well with the ball and also grabbed a fifer on his ODI debut.

In the World Cup of 1999, he led the Protea bowling attack to great effect. By virtue of some inspiring performances, the team managed to make their way to the semi-final.
