Bharat Army sings a special song for centurion Rishabh Pant at SCG
Pant scored his second Test hundred at the SCG to bury the Aussies deep in the ground.
Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant turned the tables in style at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Friday by slamming the second Test hundred of his career. His 150-plus innings made him the first Indian gloveman to score a hundred Down Under. The Bharat Army, which was on the ground cheering up Virat Kohli’s men, hit out at the Aussie fans with a song made on the 21-year-old cricketer during Day 2. It was another day in the game which Team India thoroughly dominated.
Pant has been in the headlines during the ongoing Test series more for non-cricketing reasons. He has been taunting the Australian batsmen from behind the stumps and banters with Aussie counterpart Tim Paine during the third Test in Melbourne was the most famous of them all. After Paine made a jibe at Pant for being dropped from the ODI side against Australia and also for the ODIs in New Zealand and asked the Indian if he’d want to babysit his kids.
Later the Indian keeper even met with Bonnie Paine and she posted a photo of Pant holding one of their kids while the India and Australian teams were at the Australian Prime Minister’s official residence in Sydney and there was an effort to read whether he was indeed up for “babysitting” the Aussie captain’s children.
The Australian fans reportedly took a dig at their Indian counterparts asking them for their visas in the MCG Test match. On Friday, the Bharat Army members gave it back although in a respectful manner, by singing a song based on Pant.
They sang:
“He’ll hit you for a six;
He’ll babysit your kids;
We’ve got Rishabh Pant!
We’ve got Rishabh Pant!”

India declared at 622 for 7
India eventually declared their innings at 622 for 7 towards the end of Day 2 leaving a few overs for the Aussie batsmen to negotiate. Pant remained not out of 159, falling just 10 runs short of AB de Villiers’ 169 as the highest scorer by a foreign keeper in Australia.
Usman Khawaja, who batted at No.3 for Australia in this series, came out to open with youngster Marcus Harris and Mohammed Shami opened the Indian bowling attack. Australia need to score at least 423 runs to save the follow-on.
