BJP MLA wants Virat Kohli to divorce Anushka Sharma for producing Paatal Lok
He has also written a letter to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting requesting a ban on the streaming of web series.
Paatal Lok web series started streaming on OTT platform Amazon Prime from May 15 and the audience has received it extremely well. While the web series is receiving praise from many, it has also sparked multiple controversies. The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Nandkishor Gurjar has filed an FIR on the producer and the Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma for using his picture in the web series without his consent.
He has also filed a complaint against Anushka under the National Security Act for causing a communal stir in the series. Moreover, Gurjar suggested India captain Virat Kohli to divorce his wife stating that he plays for the country and shouldn’t tolerate such things while also accusing Anushka of sedition.
No one is bigger than country, says Nandkishor Gurjar
In a conversation with Newsroom Post, Nandkishor Gurjar stated that no one is bigger than the country and Virat Kohli, having played for India, shouldn’t tolerate it and has to divorce Anushka Sharma as soon as possible. He also said that this step from the Indian captain will send a strong message to everyone.
“Desh se koi bada nahi hai. Virat Kohli desh ke liye khelte hai aur desh bhakt hai. Unhone Anushka ko turant talak dena chahiye,” he said. (The aforementioned quote roughly translates to – No one is bigger than the country. Virat Kohli is a patriotic person and plays for India. He should divorce Anushka soon. This will send a strong message).
Meanwhile, the politician has also written a letter to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javdekar and has requested to ban the streaming of the web series. A few days ago, Viren Sri Gurung sent a legal notice to Anushka Sharma for allegedly using a casteist slur in the show. There are a couple of scenes in the series which are being objected.
The actress is yet to comment publicly on the matter. As far as Paatal Lok is concerned, it features Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Abhishek Bannerjee, Gul Panag, Swastika Mukherjee in crucial roles.
