Bollywood Star Shahid Kapoor names his favourite cricketer

Indian cricket has produced a number of legendary cricketers over the years who have wielded their magic on the cricket pitch in their areas of expertise. From the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Bishen Singh Bedi, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and others, the country hasn’t been short of talented cricketers. Currently, a certain player by the name of Virat Kohli is plying his trade in international cricket.

Quite expectantly, he can be deemed as the greatest among the current bunch of players. The Delhi-born batsman has 57 centuries in national colours to go with approximately 17,000 runs at the highest level. The 29-year-old is presently in England where he is leading the Indian team in the second of the five-match Test series, which the visiting team is currently trailing by 1-0.

In the opening Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham, he notched 149 runs in the first innings to drag India out of a precarious position. He followed it up with 51 runs in the second innings against the might of the English attack. Unfortunately, he couldn’t guide his team to victory. Moreover, he is second on the list of highest run scorers this year in international cricket.

Shahid awestruck by Virat’s magic

Jonny Bairstow, the English batsman, overhauled his tally in the third day’s play of the second encounter at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Kohli hasn’t yet reached his 30s, yet is rated to be amongst the greatest cricketers to have played the illustrious sport. Quite expectantly, the bearded beast has garnered a significant fanbase as his career has passed the test of times.

Recently, Shahid Kapoor, the renowned Bollywood actor, expressed his admiration for the Indian captain. The artist will next be seen in the movie ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, the trailer of which released a couple of days ago. The movie also features the likes of Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam.

In the meantime, a supporter took to Twitter and asked Shahid to name his favourite cricketer. The user wrote, “Your fav cricket player @shahidkapoor”.

Shahid had no double thoughts while answering the fan and he reverted with the name of Virat Kohli. He replied and wrote, “Virat.”
