Hailed the &#8220;Next-gen Gayle&#8221;, Evin Lewis time and again chipped in with some brilliant displays. His muscular and gritty strokeplay was one of the most attractive aspects of the T20 tournament and he turned out to be a great addition to eventual champions.

The southpaw played just nine matches for the 2019 champions but left a major impact. With 273 runs to his name in 8 innings at an average of 54.60, he was absolutely terrific for the Victorians. His most important contribution came in the Qualifier 1, where he struck a 53-ball 71 and helped Victorians go over the line with ease.

One simply cannot ignore the quality Andre Russell adds to any side he represents. Wherever he goes across the globe to play T20 leagues, he leaves his mark both with the bat and ball, making him one of the brightest prospects in world cricket currently.

With the bat and ball, he was right up there for the Dynamites. He scored 299 runs at a strike-rate in excess of 150 and also picked up 14 wickets with the ball at an average of 25. The way he made a mockery of the Rangpur bowling unit in the second Qualifier was a testament to the stupendous cricketer he is.

Perhaps his statistics will not truly reflect on how good he was, but Thisara Perera chipped in with some outstanding contributions for the champions. He scored runs at crucial junctures and kept his calm with the ball in the final, picking up two most important wickets for the side (Upul Tharanga and Russell).

Perera collected 151 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate in excess of 200. Among all the batters who scored over 100 runs, he had the best strike rate. He also took seven wickets with the ball, most of which came at crucial spells for the Victorians.

Fans would&#8217;ve loved to see him in the list for his batting exploits, but this time, it&#8217;s <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/shahid-afridi-reckons-shadab-khan-will-play-a-pivotal-role-for-pakistan-in-the-world-cup-2019/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Shahid Afridi</strong></a> the bowling all-rounder who made the cut. He picked up 16 wickets in 13 games at a splendid average of 15.81. He also maintained a fantastic economy rate of 6.15, which is quite amazing for a retired cricketer. With the bat, he could only collect 141 runs at a strike-rate of 136.

Just like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine instantly makes a side better with his sheer presence. In the final, whilst all bowlers were bowing down to Tamim&#8217;s masterclass, he conceded just 18 runs in four overs, a testament to his class with the cherry in hand.

He picked up 18 wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 6.36, to go with 279 runs in 15 innings. He was one of the prime contenders to be awarded Player of the Tournament as well.

Wahab Riaz is fondly remembered for his spell against Australia in the 2015 <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/mickey-arthur-expects-the-two-players-to-deliver-the-most-for-pakistan-in-the-world-cup-2019/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>World Cup</strong></a> in Adelaide and the left-arm speedster might&#8217;ve replicated something similar in the final on Friday. This edition has been quite outstanding for Wahab Riaz, who ripped apart the batters with his sheer pace and class. With 16 wickets in 10 games, he was one of the top wicket takers and he also maintained a stellar average of 15.81.

<p>Tamim Iqbal gave a cracker-jacker of a finish to Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019 with a stellar knock and also guided his side to a second tournament triumph. Victorians were earlier led by Steve Smith, who later backed off due to an injury but under the leadership of Imrul Kayes, they managed to go all the way.</p>
<p>There have been some amazing moments throughout the tournament, from Jason Roy&#8217;s breathtaking catch to Warner turning a right-handed, but nothing tops <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/twitter-reactions-belligerent-tamim-iqbal-scripts-title-glory-for-comilla-victorians/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Tamim Iqbal&#8217;s</strong></a> knock in the final. Chasing 200 runs for the title, Dhaka fell 17 runs short and two times in a row, they lost the final.</p>
<p>One of the major reasons behind the inception of this tournament is to allow young local stars to collaborate with overseas professionals and learn from them. Some of the overseas stars have not just done that, but also made a great name for themselves with a stellar rendition.</p>

<h3>1. Evin Lewis (Comilla Victorians)</h3>

<p>Hailed the &#8220;Next-gen Gayle&#8221;, Evin Lewis time and again chipped in with some brilliant displays. His muscular and gritty strokeplay was one of the most attractive aspects of the T20 tournament and he turned out to be a great addition to eventual champions.</p>
<p>The southpaw played just nine matches for the 2019 champions but left a major impact. With 273 runs to his name in 8 innings at an average of 54.60, he was absolutely terrific for the Victorians. His most important contribution came in the Qualifier 1, where he struck a 53-ball 71 and helped Victorians go over the line with ease.</p>

<h3>2. Alex Hales (Rangpur Riders)</h3>

<p>Another one of those players who didn&#8217;t get to play all the games, but had a significant impact on the tournament was <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/stats-ab-de-villiers-and-alex-hales-power-rangpur-riders-to-victory-with-a-record-partnership-in-the-bpl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Alex Hales</strong></a>. The Englishman is known for his clean striking and that was very well on display throughout his time in the 2019 edition of BPL before an injury ruled him out.</p>
<p>Hales featured in 8 games for the Rangpur Riders and registered 304 runs for the side, which included a hundred and two half-centuries. He also amassed these runs at an average of 43.43, which is pretty decent for a top order batsman. Unfortunately for him, Rangpur failed to make it to the finals despite finishing on the top of the points table in group stages.</p>
<h3>3. Rilee Rossouw (Rangpur Riders)</h3>

<p>Former South African cricketer <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/stats-alex-hales-and-rilee-rossouw-run-riot-against-chittagong-vikings-in-the-bpl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Rilee Rossouw</strong></a> has been featuring mainly in T20 leagues these days and his last few outings prior to the BPL were not particularly memorable. But he had one heck of a campaign with the Rangpur Riders and was one of the pillars behind making their side the table toppers at the end of group stages.</p>
<p>Rossouw finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer, with 558 runs in 13 innings. He spanked a hundred and five half-centuries for the club and scored at an average of 69.75. Rossouw and Hales scored centuries in the same game against Chittagong, where the Riders eventually managed to score 239 runs.</p>

<h3>4. Laurie Evans (Rajshahi Kings)</h3>

<p>Laurie Evans scored the first century of this edition&#8217;s BPL and was a key figure in the Rajshahi setup. The Kings. led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, missed out on a spot in the playoffs by a whisker and eventual finalists Dhaka pipped them on the points table by net run rate.</p>
<p>The English cricketer played 11 games this season and amassed 339 runs at an average of 37.67. His campaign included a couple of half-centuries and a century that came against eventual champions <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/three-reasons-why-bpl-2019-could-be-mashrafe-mortazas-last-in-the-tournament/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Comilla Victorians</strong></a>. His knock of 76 in 36 deliveries against Sylhet in the group stages definitely was one of the best in the tournament.</p>
<h3>5. Nicholas Pooran (Sylhet Sixers)</h3>

<p>Arguably the best middle order batsman of this edition among all overseas players, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/psl-2019-multan-sultans-sign-johnson-charles-to-replace-nicholas-pooran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nicholas Pooran</strong></a> is knocking hard on the national selectors&#8217; doors with his outrageous displays. The Trinidadian southpaw&#8217;s exploits were unfortunately not good enough for Sylhet to reach the knockout stage.</p>
<p>Coming in at number five or six in all the games, Pooran managed to score 379 runs for the side in 11 innings. He scored at an average of 47.38, which also included three half-centuries. He certainly is on his way towards becoming one of the best finishers in the world.</p>

<h3>6. Andre Russell (Dhaka Dynamites)</h3>

<p>One simply cannot ignore the quality Andre Russell adds to any side he represents. Wherever he goes across the globe to play T20 leagues, he leaves his mark both with the bat and ball, making him one of the brightest prospects in world cricket currently.</p>
<p>With the bat and ball, he was right up there for the Dynamites. He scored 299 runs at a strike-rate in excess of 150 and also picked up 14 wickets with the ball at an average of 25. The way he made a mockery of the Rangpur bowling unit in the second Qualifier was a testament to the stupendous cricketer he is.</p>
<h3>7. Thisara Perera (Comilla Victorians)</h3>

<p>Perhaps his statistics will not truly reflect on how good he was, but Thisara Perera chipped in with some outstanding contributions for the champions. He scored runs at crucial junctures and kept his calm with the ball in the final, picking up two most important wickets for the side (Upul Tharanga and Russell).</p>
<p>Perera collected 151 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate in excess of 200. Among all the batters who scored over 100 runs, he had the best strike rate. He also took seven wickets with the ball, most of which came at crucial spells for the Victorians.</p>

<h3>8. Shahid Afridi (Comilla Victorians)</h3>

<p>Fans would&#8217;ve loved to see him in the list for his batting exploits, but this time, it&#8217;s <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/shahid-afridi-reckons-shadab-khan-will-play-a-pivotal-role-for-pakistan-in-the-world-cup-2019/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Shahid Afridi</strong></a> the bowling all-rounder who made the cut. The Pakistani legend was not at his prime with the willow in hand, but his experience with the ball was a clear advantage for the Victorians.</p>
<p>He picked up 16 wickets in 13 games at a splendid average of 15.81. He also maintained a fantastic economy rate of 6.15, which is quite amazing for a retired cricketer. With the bat, he could only collect 141 runs at a strike-rate of 136.</p>
<h3>9. Sunil Narine (Dhaka Dynamites)</h3>

<p>Just like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine instantly makes a side better with his sheer presence. In the final, whilst all bowlers were bowing down to Tamim&#8217;s masterclass, he conceded just 18 runs in four overs, a testament to his class with the cherry in hand.</p>
