Lara also lauded Indian captain Virat Kohli with the way he has led the team in all facets of the game. The Indian captain has 40 hundreds (across formats) while leading his side and scored his career-best 254* in the last game against South Africa. The former West Indies captain also asserted that MS Dhoni had built a great platform as a leader for Kohli to carry the legacy forward.

“In terms of his performances, he leads by example. And I mean that in all facets of the game, and off the field too. He is coming off very well in the background of MS Dhoni, who laid the foundation and did things in a different way. So, I think Indian cricket, as we all know, is headed in the right direction,” he asserted as quoted by the Sportstar.
