Dinesh Karthik has taken commentary by storm with his accurate, honest, and unbiased opinion. The 36-year-old also was very cheeky and equally sassy while taking digs at his fellow commentators Nick Knight, Robert Key, and Nasser Hussain. Karthik also teamed up quite well with India batter Jemimah Rodrigues and shared some cool moments with her during The Hundred tournament.
The India wicketkeeper-batter set the record straight for his fellow cricketers to take up commentary while also representing your country. Indeed, it is not wrong to say that he was like a breath of fresh air and his commentary was widely well-received by everyone. After a close to three-month commentary stint in the United Kingdom, Karthik is now set to depart for UAE to take part in the second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Before his departure, Atherton made sure to give a fitting farewell to stylish Karthik, who also gave fashion goals to few commentators by sporting a cool and dashing look. “DK is leaving by end of this Test match and, here is a very gentle look at Giorgio Armani of broadcasting,” Atherton said while commentating during the Leeds Test match.
“He arrived with apparently 17 suitcases and his selection of finest combinations with sunglasses, which he has got 30 pairs of those for the summer.” He added. However, Atherton felt that the jumper was not looking appropriate for Karthik. In a few matches, DK was spotted with some bold colors of jumpers like yellow and blue which his co-commenter Atherton was a bit skeptical about.
“I do think that the jumper needs a little bit of work. I do love the combo on the left and in Nottingham on the scooter, but the jumpers need some work,” Atherton said
Karthik however was quick to respond to Atherton and said, “And we have also established the fact that you speaking about a fashion and a two-year-old speaking about Astrophysics don’t go well together.”
Michael Atherton appreciates Dinesh Karthik’s fashion sense
The former England opener, however, loved Karthik’s blue attire for the Leeds Test and said, “You are going well today I must say, brown, blue check trousers, very nice blue tuning, very nice handkerchief.
Fellow commentator Michael Holding narrated an incident when he was walking with DK near the car and said how a man was interested in clicking a picture with him. “We were walking towards the car yesterday afternoon, DK and I, and a gentleman came up to DK and said, ‘Can I get a selfie with the world’s best-dressed man?’”
