Team Australia is going through a very tough phase at the moment – a self-induced trouble though. They were found guilty of ball tampering on the third day of the ongoing Test match against South Africa in Cape Town. As a result of all the brouhaha, skipper Steve Smith and his deputy, David Warner, have stepped down from their respective roles of captain and vice-captain of the side in the ongoing fixture.

The current Test match has already been marred with a lot of controversies. Earlier in the series, Warner’s altercation with South African cricketer Quinton de Kock had grabbed a lot of attention. The fiasco turned uglier with De Kock and Warner not sharing any pleasantries there after. Furthermore, many reckoned that cricket had lost its funny charm when the Proteas fan ended up targeting Warner’s wife, Candice Warner, in the entire episode.

The fans have been taking digs at Warner by passing lewd remarks on his wife, Candice Warner, for the latter’s troubled past escapades. This is not the first time that such incident has happened with the Australian opener. During the Ashes 2017-18, the English fans had also mocked David Warner for the same reason on multiple occasions.

Currently, when the Australian side is in the firing range for their ball tampering tactics, some of the Aussie defendants have come up with the claims that they have been victims of direct attacks on personal lives, a clear reference to Candice Warner. Amidst this backdrop, former English skipper Michael Vaughan has found it rubbish to see Aussies defending themselves with such remarks.

Here is what Michael Vaughan had tweeted:

“It’s making me chuckle the Aussies are making an official complaint about the personal abuse they are receiving … #please !!!! #SAvAUS,” Michael Vaughan had written in his tweet.

Candice Warner hits back at Vaughan

However, the tweet from Michael Vaughan has not been well appreciated by the lady in the frame of things. She went on to question the integrity of Vaughan and what his behaviour would have been had his wife and children been at the target range of the audiences.

“Wow so you would approve of the same treatment to your wife and 3 kids??” Candice Warner wrote in his response to Vaughan’s tweet.
