Captaincy is fun, allows me to be the flag-bearer: Hardik Pandya
Hardik ruled the game against RR with his 87* off 52.
Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya seemed all happy and content after his team’s 37-run win over Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals. The victory turned out to be even special for Pandya as he led his team from the front while smashing 87* off 52 and also gave a fine contribution with the ball in hand. The GT skipper talked about his captaincy stint and added that it is fun and allows him to take the responsibility for the side.
After Pandya’s blitz with the bat, GT won the game and climbed the top spot in the points table while gathering eight points in five games. He also stated that his aim is that everyone remains happy and enjoys each other’s success which is extremely important in building a successful unit.
“Captaincy is fun and it allows me to take responsibility and be the flag-bearer. The group carries one another. My motto was I wanted everyone to be happy,” said Hardik during the post-match presentation.
It is difficult but now at four I can control the game: Hardik Pandya
During the same game, it was up for all to see that Pandya withdrew himself from the bowling attack in the 18th over and fans again suspected fear of his old injury. However, he cleared the air on the same and added, “A lot of hard work for me tonight. It was just cramps, nothing serious.” The second consecutive fifty by the dynamic all-rounder in this season not only would be significant for his franchise but remains crucial in paving his way for a national comeback.
“I am not used to batting this long. It gives me a lot of time. I can calculate and take risks. In the last game it did not come off but today I made sure I did. I have been in this situation where I have taken the role of scoring 12-ball 30. It is difficult but now at four I can control the game,” Pandya concluded.
