8. Shane Warne- Rajasthan Royals
Co-owned by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and spouse Raj Kundra, the Rajasthan-based franchise was led and coached by Shane Warne in 2008. Rajasthan Royals had a dream-run as they won 11 out of 14 league matches to finish at the top of the table. Defeating CSK in the finals, Warney led his side to a victorious end. He bagged 19 wickets in the edition, just 3 short of winning the purple cap.
Warne’s stint with RR lasted for 4 years before he retired in 2011 with 57 wickets in 55 matches at an impressive economy of 7.27. Warne also featured for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. After retiring from all forms of professional sport in 2013, Warne spent a few years away from cricket before joining the commentary panel of Fox Sports in 2018. He was also appointed as the Team Mentor of RR in the same year.
He was inducted in the Cricket Australia’s Hall of Fame in the year 2012, whereas into the ICC Hall of Fame in the next year. Shane Warne started a non-profit organization with the mission of helping underprivileged kids in Australia, however, the organization was shut down following a row of investigations relating to financial controversies. His autobiography titled “No Spin” was released in 2018.
