Bangladesh is set to host Australia in the first Test at Mirpur from Sunday both the teams are training hard for the contests. Australia is known for their off the field strategies and Nathon Lyon tried to do the same when he asked the opposition coach about the pitch. In response, Hathurusingha didn’t reveal anything to him regarding the wicket.

A lot of talks and speculations have been doing the rounds about the wicket in Mirpur whether it would be a rank turner. Bangladesh has improved leaps and bounds since Australia last played them in Tests. It is also expected that the Test series would be keenly contested and it would not be a cake walk for the visitors.

The Main Story…

Bangladesh coach has worked previously with Australian domestic team New South Wales. Nathon Lyon was the part of that team and naturally, he must have worked with Hathurusingha. On that connection, the off-spinner asked the coach about the pitch conditions in Mirpur. But as it has been revealed, he did not reveal anything to Nathon Lyon.

Lyon himself reported the incident to the reporters after the practice sessions on Friday. The 247 Test wicket holder said, “I saw the wicket but I cannot say anything. Last night I spoke to the Bangladesh Coach and he didn’t even say on which pitch the match is going to be held.”

Aussie captain, Steve Smith too went to observe the pitch on the eve of the match on Friday. Australia is playing Bangladesh after such a long time that no players were part of the squad when the last Test match was played between the two sides. Australia though will be high on confidence after a good show during their tour to India. The second Test will be played from 4th September at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
