'Character and composure shown throughout was excellent to watch' - Rohit Sharma reacts to India's win in MCG Test
India won the Melbourne Test on Tuesday and levelled the four-match series.
Team India, as expected, won the second Test after completely dominating Australia. They also levelled the four-match series and have the momentum with them going into the crucial third Test which could be played in Melbourne itself given the COVID restrictions in Sydney. India missed a number of their star players in this Test and one among them was Rohit Sharma who has just completed his quarantine period down under.
He has lauded the team for winning the second Test against all the odds. Not many gave India a chance after the Adelaide debacle where they registered their lowest ever total in the format. But Ajinkya Rahane led the depleted team well and himself batted well to score a brilliant century with the bat. The composure showed by the whole team was praiseworthy and Rohit Sharma also pointed out the same.
He took to Twitter to express himself and was delighted over India’s win. “Fantastic win for the Team India at the MCG. Character and composure shown throughout the game was excellent to watch @bcci,” his tweet read.

Rohit Sharma set to join team India on Wednesday
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is also delighted with the fact that he will be finally joining Team India in Australia after so much anticipation. A lot has been said over his injury which he sustained during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and still went on to play the playoffs for Mumbai Indians eventually missing out on the major part of the tour Down Under.
But he regained his fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and flew to Australia a couple of weeks ago. Rohit Sharma has also completed his quarantine period in Sydney. There were doubts over his participation after a recent COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney. But Cricket Australia (CA) is set to move him to Melbourne on Wednesday.
A final decision is yet to be taken over where the third Test will be played. MCG is on standby to host the crucial game which is set to be played from January 7, 2021.
